Catching Up on Summer (Phase I)

So flashback a few months and bear with me the next few posts as I finally blog our summer. Way back in May/June we went on our annual family bear hunt. It is becoming a great tradition and we have a fun time seeing friends from the year before. We we headed out one late afternoon as we were hoping to make it with plenty of light to spare. Little did we know what was in store for us. One member of our caravan, which included 1 camp trailer and 2 horse trailers, got a flat tire. It ended up being on a horse trailer. It was late Friday night and it ended up that the bearing was shot and we had no where to go. Here is everyone assessing the situation.

Without many options and a trailer full of horses we decided to lighten the load a bit and move some of the horses into the other horse trailer and Spanish Fork canyon highway.
All went well and we continued on our trek, but much later than anticipated with light fading fast. It was very dark we when finally made it to camp.
Anyhow the rest of the trip went relatively well and it only rained once. The kids had a grand ole' time getting dirty and playing hard.
Payton was in heaven because all of the wild flowers were blooming everywhere. He LOVES flowers, more importantly he LOVES to Pick flowers and this way he could pick his little heart out.
Josie was reunited with her friend Livvy and they played together from sun up to sun down. Thank goodness they had each other because they were surrounded by boys.
Haylee posing while on our hike.

Don't you just love it when your kid is being the angry brat and the other one is full of sweetness!
Yep that's right...I even made it on a horse ride with Landon.
Oh and no bear....again, but that's totally OK with me!
